Quick Candy Apple Halloween Cocktail – Easy 5-Minute Recipe

candy apple halloween cocktail - featured image

This quick candy apple Halloween cocktail tastes exactly like a candy apple but takes less time to make than finding a parking spot. It’s the kind of drink that makes people think you spent way more effort than you actually did.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz sour apple liqueur
  • 1 oz caramel syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • 1 thin apple slice (optional)
  • Red sanding sugar (for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rim: Pour a thin layer of red sanding sugar onto a small plate. Lightly wet the rim of a rocks glass with a cut lemon wedge or damp finger. Gently twist the rim in the sugar until coated evenly. Tap off any excess.
  2. Fill the glass with ice: Add enough ice cubes to fill the glass about three-quarters full.
  3. Add the vodka: Pour 2 ounces of vodka over the ice.
  4. Add the sour apple liqueur: Measure and pour 1 ounce of sour apple liqueur into the glass.
  5. Add the caramel syrup: Pour 1 ounce of caramel syrup into the glass. If the syrup is thick, microwave it for about 5 seconds to make it more pourable.
  6. Stir gently: Use a bar spoon or long spoon to stir the mixture for about 10-15 seconds until the color becomes uniform.
  7. Garnish and serve: Drop a maraschino cherry into the glass. Add a thin apple slice on the rim if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t skip the rim—the red sanding sugar adds a subtle crunch that mimics the candy coating on a real candy apple. Chill your glass beforehand to keep the drink colder longer. Adjust sweetness to taste: reduce caramel syrup to 1/2 oz for a tarter drink, or add more for a sweeter version. For parties, batch the ingredients (except ice) in a pitcher and pour over ice when guests arrive.
