This creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip features a fun spiderweb sour cream design that turns a simple appetizer into a conversation starter. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s perfect for game day or any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Let cream cheese soften at room temperature or microwave on low for 15-20 seconds.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and buffalo wing sauce. Blend with a hand mixer or sturdy spoon until smooth.
  3. Fold in shredded chicken, 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar, and crumbled blue cheese (if using). Stir until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer mixture to a 9-inch pie plate or small baking dish. Spread into an even layer with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar over the top.
  6. Spoon sour cream into a small zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner (about 1/8 inch). Pipe concentric circles of sour cream starting from the center outward. Use a toothpick or knife tip to drag from the center outward through all circles, creating a web pattern.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to avoid lumps. The sour cream web is forgiving—uneven circles look more organic. If making ahead, assemble up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate; add 5-7 minutes to baking time. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
