Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces goat cheese log, softened to room temperature
  • 6 ounces aged sharp cheddar, sliced into thin wedges
  • 4 ounces creamy brie, left whole for spreading
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces genoa salami, sliced into thin rounds
  • 3 ounces soppressata, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 fresh figs, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup fig jam or fig preserves
  • 1/3 cup honey, preferably local and raw
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes, washed and left in small clusters
  • 2 crisp apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced and tossed in lemon juice
  • 1 cup roasted salted almonds
  • 1/2 cup candied pecans
  • 1 large baguette, sliced into thin rounds and lightly toasted
  • 1 box good quality crackers
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for decoration
  • Dried apple rings or dried apricots for color
  • Pumpkin seeds for garnish
  • Fresh thyme leaves for sprinkling over goat cheese

Instructions

  1. Place small bowls or ramekins on the board first, arranging fig jam and honey in a triangle pattern.
  2. Roll softened goat cheese log into a round shape, place on board, create decorative ridges with a fork, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle fresh thyme leaves. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  3. Place sliced cheddar and brie on opposite sides of the board, fanning out cheddar slices and leaving brie whole.
  4. Fold prosciutto slices into loose ribbon shapes and arrange near brie. Overlap salami and soppressata slices in lines or small stacks.
  5. Place halved figs in small clusters around the board, scatter grape clusters in between, and arrange apple slices in a fan pattern near the edge.
  6. Pour almonds and candied pecans into empty spaces to fill gaps.
  7. Place toasted baguette slices in a stack or fan pattern on one side, and crackers in a separate stack nearby.
  8. Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs for color, sprinkle pumpkin seeds over the board, add dried apple rings or apricots, and serve immediately after letting sit for 10 minutes at room temperature.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave breathing room between components. Prep all ingredients before arranging. For make-ahead, prepare components separately and assemble right before serving. Leftovers keep 3-4 days when stored separately.
